Founded in 1997, Medique Skincare is a unique medical product line designed to complement medical esthetic practices. Advanced formulations based on solid science skincare created to address skin rejuvenation as well as specialized conditions such as acne, rosacea and purpura. Providing professional products for use by doctors, nurses and trained medical estheticians, in addition to products for at-home skin care ensures Medique’s ability to provide reliable results for our clients.

In 2004, Medique Skincare was purchased by Dr. Wendy Smeltzer and Vivienne O’Keeffe - each of them bringing vast knowledge and experience to further the growth and development of the Medique brand globally. Since the acquisition, Smeltzer and O’Keeffe have relocated and expanded the office and distribution centre, and created a new logo and look for the products as reflected in the new packaging and labeling the product line now boasts. Medique’s new look is the outcome of rebranding to better communicate the effectiveness of the product.  The clean lines of the logo reflect the modern results-producing formulas that make Medique the cornerstone of effective skincare.

Dr. Smeltzer established a medical esthetics practice in 1998 after 18 years of clinical medicine, founding Canada’s first medical spa which combines medical esthetics with spa services and lifestyle programs. Widely recognized in the spa and medical esthetic industry for her commitment to high standards and best practices, she has chaired the Standards and Practices Committee for the national Canadian spa association and written standards for Canadian spas, suppliers and educational bodies in the industry. Wendy also sits on the Board of the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine as well as holding an appointment by the Minister of Health for Alberta. She speaks internationally on medical esthetics, cosmeceutical and skin care products in addition to lecturing on standards for the spa and medical esthetic industries.

Vivienne O'Keeffe has extensive international experience in skin care products from formulation to product launch and brand development. She is a certified beauty therapist and quality consultant with extensive experience in building successful enterprises worldwide, and is recognized throughout North America and Europe for her work developing and building international brand awareness.

Vivienne is renowned for her consulting work within the cosmetic industry, and is published regularly in industry and business magazines in the skin care and spa industry worldwide.
